Sustainably Minded, Land Led Artwork
About My Work
-
While stone and soil pigments are permanent in nature, botanical inks, like photographs can fade over time. Although I create with only the most lightfast botanical inks, there is the potential of some color fading within original works. It is highly recommended to keep your original work out of sunlight, or near a north facing window to best protect the color over time. Additionally, if you decide to frame your work, UV glass will best protect your original work. This does not apply to any giclee prints or monoprints without the inclusion of natural pigments.

I am deeply committed to sustainability and environmental causes; I aim to reduce my overall environmental impact and create more regenerative methods within my creative practice. I am transitioning from acrylic paint to Earth sourced materials and ecofriendly paints and inks. While I have begun this journey, I pledge to spend more time ethically foraging pigments and supporting small businesses who make sustainable art materials. Since I am amidst an evolution, I am continuing to use some acrylic paints, as I have been painting this way for many years and throwing them all out would equally not be good for the environment. I am also dedicated to finding more sustainable applications in framing, presentation, packaging, and shipping.

I believe in accessible art, so people from all backgrounds and income levels can have a connection to the land, beauty, and objects that bring them pleasure within their own homes. While my work varies wildly in price, I commit to having some continued options for greater accessibility.

Commissions are custom pieces of art that a client requests an artist to make. To commission a Teeny Landscape, you select and send a photo of a landscape for me to paint after purchase.

These prints are high quality reproductions of my original mixed media paintings, made with archival inks, archival fine art paper, and Hahnemühle Certified Printing.

My monoprints are one-of-a-kind originals which are created using ink, by both additive and subtractive processes. The image made onto the printmaking plate is then pressed, transferring the image onto paper. The final artwork is built by layering multiple images, one on top of another. These handmade prints are made with Cranfield oil based, eco-friendly inks and high-quality printmaking paper.

All monoprints and drypoints are handmade and may not be perfectly straight or without marks or slight bends in the borders. Because these prints will be matted and framed, these imperfections within the borders are inconsequential — and will not impact your artwork’s beauty or frameability. These variations are actually proof that each image is handmade, original, and one of a kind and adds to its individual charm.
